A study to assess the prevalence and causes of protein energy malnutrition among children aged 1 to 5 years in selected urban slums at Mandsaur City, Madhya Pradesh with view to develop health information module

An exploratory descriptive approach was adopted in the study. The sample consisted of children aged 1 to 5 year. study conducted at selected urban slum Mandsaur city from 25 Nov 2021 31 Jan 2022. 450 (1-5 years) included using convenient sampling technique and screened for PEM by anthropometric measurement (weight, Height, Head circumference, Chest Mid arm circumference) instrument like electronic weighing machine inch tape then observed clinical symptoms through checklist determine grade according IAP classification PEM, also Information were collected regarding socio demographic data identify cause associated with structured questionnaire interview mother care taker.
